Memorial Day and Camping, why?

Over the years it has always caused me a great deal of confusion, that on Memorial Day everyone packs up their various vehicles and heads out of town, to enjoy some outdoor fun. What the hell are you all thinking? Camping, fishing, and beer, wrong! This day is about honoring those that have served our country and ensured our freedom. A day to reflect on those who were brave enough to make the ultimate sacrifice, not those brave enough to not sleep on air mattresses. As you drive your polluting SUV 400 miles for the perfect camp site, another solider has given their life.

Yet, what's on your mind, beer and bust. Did you even take a moment during your drive to talk about what today is? Did you call a vet and say thank you for all they have done? Please the "We Support Our Troops" bumper sticker is not even close enough, even it it was pasted square on your blank, sheepish face!
